When , Professor of Philosophy at USF, became guest editor of the journal of the leading society of Heidegger Scholars this year, he decided to do something outside the norm.
Rather than just putting out more essays from well-known and well-published authors, who hardly need more exposure or lines on their CV, he asked these leading figures to select early career scholars (ABD to Assistant Professor) whose work they admired. Each scholar then entered into a partnership with their junior to advise and improve their paper (which had to pass peer-review) as well as publish a short response.
This emulated the conversational structure of philosophical thought and practice, and helped bring a new group of scholars to join the conversation, including a USF graduate and a 新澳门六合彩内幕信息graduate student.
