BIO

Alex Levine received his Ph.D. from the University of California , San Diego, in 1994. After teaching at the University of Puerto Rico and Lehigh University , he joined the 新澳门六合彩内幕信息Philosophy Department in 2005, and became Department Chair in 2017. Trained in the philosophy of science and the philosophy of mind, his current research interests include the philosophical importance of peripheral science (science outside Europe and North America), the "species problem" in the philosophy of biology, the "access problem" in the philosophy of mathematics, and embodied approaches within the philosophy of mind. Recent publications include two collaborations with Adriana Novoa, (Chicago, 2010), and 隆顿补谤飞颈苍颈蝉迟补蝉! (Brill, 2012).  He has written a number of scholarly papers, and has also been active as a scholarly translator, with credits including Paul Hoyningen Huene's  (Chicago, 1993). More recent, he prepared the English translation of Friedrich Steinle's  (Pittsburgh, 2016), for which he received the  of the American Translator's Association. He is currently the Editor of .
