Social work faculty and students participate in Activist Lab Bootcamp

Faculty and students in the School of Social Work recently participated in the 6th Annual College of Public Health Activist Lab Bootcamp. Associate in Research Chris Groeber, MSW, led the Suicide Prevention for BIPOC Youth group. Associate Professor Jerome Galea, PhD, LCSW, as well as Jacqueline Houston, an Activist Lab student advisory board member, helped facilitate the bootcamp.

This year鈥檚 boot camp is focused on suicide prevention. Attendees learned from suicide prevention experts on public health issues and strategies for change and discussed the important tenets and strategies related to successful public health advocacy, policy-making, and communication related to suicide prevention.
