Faculty and staff representing the American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting program hosted a table at the Hands Up Conference last weekend. They met with potential students, networked with professionals from the Southeast region, and showed their Bull pride.
The Hands Up Conference, previously known as the Silent Weekend Conference, is a time of silent immersion, education, and cultural celebration. Professionals from all over the country who specialize in their topics teach others the best way to explain, offer access to, and communicate 鈥媤ith the 鈥媎/Deaf community. For nearly 40 years, this collaborative event has also offered continuing education credits to ASL 鈥媝rofessionals in order to continue education and awareness.
