College of Education welcomes interim director to David C. Anchin Center for the Advancement of Teaching

TAMPA, Fla. (December 4, 2018) â€” The аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅϢ’s College of Education is pleased to welcome Dr. Constance Hines, Ph.D., as the interim director of the David C. Anchin Center for the Advancement of Teaching.

As a professor emerita of USF, Dr. Hines has a long history of teaching and research excellence at аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢and in the College of Education. She joined USF’s Educational Measurement and Research Program in 1983 and served as the College of Education’s Associate Dean for Programs from 1994 to 2002.

Dr. Hines research interests include the application of statistical methods to educational data, the measurement of teaching behavior and factors that mediate the effect of teacher behavior on student achievement. Dr. Hines’s work has been published in the Journal of Experimental Education, the Journal of Educational and Psychological Measurement, the Journal of Educational Research and the American Educational Research Journal.

The mission of the David C. Anchin Center for the Advancement of Teaching is to promote alliances and leverage resources to develop, enhance, and showcase college, university, and partnership efforts that support innovation and the advancement of teaching and leadership. As interim director, Dr. Hines will oversee the Anchin Center’s various programs and initiatives while a national search is conducted for a new director and endowed chair.
