The 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 (USF) College of Education will explore how money,
politics and power impact public education during the 19th annual Education in Action
event on Wednesday, Nov. 17.
Education in Action is an annual event that connects a diverse group of stakeholders
from across the Tampa Bay region to explore critical issues facing the education profession.
Each year, the 新澳门六合彩内幕信息College of Education welcomes school partners, community members
and other leaders within the education profession to discuss solutions to prevailing
challenges within the field.
鈥淭he field of education is constantly enhanced and challenged by local, state and
federal institutions that believe their ideas to increase academic learning opportunities
for students are best,鈥� said R. Anthony Rolle, PhD, professor and dean of the USF
College of Education. 鈥淭hese enhancements and challenges are often supported by political
agendas and influenced by money. If Florida鈥檚 public schools are to continue providing
quality learning opportunities for our students, we need to understand the influences
at work in this space.鈥�
The event will open with a keynote presentation from Eric Hall, EdD, a 新澳门六合彩内幕信息alumnus and senior chancellor of the Florida Department of Education. The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion including school superintendents and 新澳门六合彩内幕信息faculty with expertise in educational leadership and policy studies.
Panelists include:
- Carlee Simon, PhD, superintendent of and former executive director of the .
- Dena Cushenberry, EdD, former superintendent of the Metropolitan School District of Warren Township and author of "."

The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Sam and Martha Gibbons
Alumni Center on USF鈥檚 Tampa campus with the keynote presentation beginning at noon.
