A research team from the 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 is recruiting runners for a study on a new product developed to reduce muscle soreness.
The study, 鈥淭he Impact of a Commercially-Available Product on Performance and Muscle Soreness鈥 (PRO#002032) is led by Exercise Science faculty members Marcus Kilpatrick and Samuel Buckner and is being conducted on USF鈥檚 Tampa campus.
A Tampa area company has developed a new product that aims to reduce muscle soreness and pain among active individuals, and this study will evaluate product effectiveness. The research team will utilize placebo and control groups to test product efficacy, with participants in the experimental and placebo groups applying a gel to their lower body before and after physical activity sessions that includes high-intensity interval exercise and lower body resistance workouts.
Interested runners who are 18-55 years of age and who consistently run at least 15 miles per week and have no underlying health conditions are invited to participate. Benefits for participation include: a VO2 max test, advanced body composition assessment, and medical screening. Participants will be asked to come to the 新澳门六合彩内幕信息Tampa campus for two 90-minute appointments and given and a $100 Amazon gift card.
The research study is ongoing and will continue throughout the summer. If you run at least 15 miles per week and are interested in being a study participant, please contact research coordinator Katie Haff at haff@usf.edu by August 15, 2021.
