The аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢College of Education was awarded a $1 million grant by the Florida Department of Education to develop a new series of oral history resources that will be used by educators, school districts and the public as part of Florida’s revised civics education curriculum.

Student Spotlight: Alicia Miller
From the time she began her studies at USF, Mathematics Education major Alicia Miller has taken on opportunities such as working as a resident assistant for the Education Living Learning Community and becoming a part-time tutor through USF’s Tutor-A-Bull program. Now, with graduation just around the corner, she reflects on her teacher preparation program and the experiences that have led her to where she is today.

When the pandemic began and schools moved to remote learning, many parents and caregivers were afraid their children would fall behind academically and socially. Responding to those concerns led College of Education professors AnnMarie Gunn and Susan Bennett to team up with the Police Athletic League (PAL) of St. Petersburg, which seeks to inspire hope and transform the lives of at-risk youth.
