新澳门六合彩内幕信息CSE Students Win First Place in ICPC Southeast Division 2
Visiting Assistant Professor Mauricio Pamplona Segundo led students from the 新澳门六合彩内幕信息Society of Competitive Programmers in the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) Division 2 regional phase on February 25th, 2023, in Charleston, South Carolina, to first and third-place wins.
鈥淭his year was our second time participating in the ICPC,鈥 said Ali Aslanbayli, President of the 新澳门六合彩内幕信息SCP. In 2022, they competed against 42 teams in Miami. However, the competition nearly tripled in size to 119. 鈥淲hile last year we were able to secure the 5th place, this time we beat all of our expectations and won the 1st place.鈥
Participants were ranked by the number of solved problems and their time to completion. The competition allowed five programming languages: C, C++, Java, Kotlin, and Python 3. These competitions include a wide variety of challenges that evaluate students' skills in algorithms, data structures, and problem-solving.
鈥淚 believe SCP is getting more competitive every day. We have many active members enhancing their coding and problem-solving skills, and the results are starting to show up,鈥 said Professor Segundo. 鈥淚 can see SCP attracting the attention of job recruiters very soon, as I've seen it happen in other universities.
I'm looking forward to what the future holds for our hardworking members.鈥 He continued.
The Gold medalists team was Khanh Quoc Duong, Mirshokhid Okilbekov, and Yernar Sadybekov. The Broze medalist team was Chau Le, Justin Michael Delgado, and Shrabon Kumar Das.
The Computing Partners Program funded the travel to the event.
