The Pamela Muma Women鈥檚 Health Center is marking a milestone, celebrating five years of bringing concierge and personalized medicine to women throughout the Tampa Bay region. Since opening in February 2019, the Center has grown to more than 350 members, and that number is still increasing.
鈥淭he fifth anniversary of the Pamela Muma Women鈥檚 Health Center is a great milestone for 新澳门六合彩内幕信息Health, as well as for the patients who have benefitted from the outstanding health care our center offers,鈥 said Charles J. Lockwood, MD, MHCM, executive vice president of 新澳门六合彩内幕信息Health and dean of the 新澳门六合彩内幕信息Health Morsani College of Medicine. 鈥淯SF Health is deeply grateful for the generosity of Pam Muma in enabling us to establish a center to provide the full spectrum of women鈥檚 care in a concierge setting. I also would like to thank Dr. Denise Edwards for her commitment to and leadership of this valuable service for our patients.鈥
associate professor in the Department of Internal Medicine in the 新澳门六合彩内幕信息Health Morsani College of Medicine and lead physician for the Pamela Muma Women鈥檚 Health Center, has thoroughly enjoyed her experience providing care to these patients within this center of excellence.
鈥淲e celebrate five years of the Pamela Muma Center this month!,鈥 Dr. Edwards said. 鈥淚t has truly been a pleasure getting to know each patient, as well as their families, over these years.鈥
Located at the 新澳门六合彩内幕信息Health South Tampa Center for Advanced Healthcare, across from Tampa General Hospital, the 5,600 square-foot facility provides a relaxing environment for high-quality primary and preventive care exclusively for women. The patient-centered practice with a low doctor-to-patient ratio offers priority access for urgent, acute and chronic health care needs, and tailors to the needs of each individual.
The Center also partners with physician specialists including cardiology, sleep medicine, acupuncture, chiropractic therapy, and will soon offer health coaching.
鈥淭he beauty of being able to have longer appointment times is that it gives me a chance to really get to know our patients as people, and we are thankful to be entrusted with their care,鈥 Dr. Edwards said. 鈥淲e don't take that responsibility lightly.鈥
The Center features spacious exam suites, as well as spaces for a doctor to review lab results and other medical information one-on-one with the patient. Members gain regular and after-hours access to a health care navigator and a physician, who arrange diagnostic testing and same-day lab testing results when possible, and can expedite filling of prescriptions and coordinate follow-up care with specialists.
The facility became possible through a $2 million gift from philanthropist Pamela Muma, who envisioned a better solution for women after experiencing her own personal challenges of navigating the health care system.
鈥淚t is with great pride, appreciation, and admiration that I congratulate the extraordinary medical team on the fifth anniversary of the Pamela Muma Women鈥檚 Health Center!鈥 Muma said. 鈥淚n 2015, we started the business plan and design for the health center that would provide specialized care exclusively for women. The goal was to help patients navigate the complex health system, customize their medical needs in one facility, as well as expedite results, office visits, and response times. After three and half years of planning with architects, physicians, business leaders, and advisors, we were able to open the door to our first patient/client on February 6, 2019! It has truly been a team effort to accomplish these goals and be successful. Thank you for sharing in this journey, as we celebrate our 5th anniversary, the team and you the women of the Pamela Muma Women鈥檚 Health Center.鈥
The center is currently accepting membership applications.
