The (COPH) (MCHSO) will host its 15th annual spring symposium this year from March 21-22. This year鈥檚 event titled, 鈥淪upportive Care Throughout Pregnancy: How We All Come Together," centers on how everyone has a part to play in ensuring mothers, birthing people and children are equitably cared for to become well and flourish.
The MCHSO is an organization that serves as a forum for all students (regardless of major) interested in maternal and child health (MCH) issues. The group increases awareness about MCH matters and connects students with service, learning and mentoring opportunities.
Speakers from around the state and will cover topics ranging from male involvement, safe baby training and caregiver support to reproductive justice framework of preconception and prenatal and postpartum care.
鈥淲e hope to share the necessity for supportive care throughout pregnancy and that maternal and child health is not solely dependent on the mother but also on the support of the community around them,鈥 said Kiannyz Morales Rios, MCHSO research and education chair. 鈥淚 am looking forward to spreading the importance of maternal and child health to the 新澳门六合彩内幕信息community and getting more students to fall in love with MCH as much as I have!鈥
The symposium will be held both in person at the Marshall Student Center and virtually on Microsoft Teams. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for in-person attendees. This event is open to all students, faculty and community members.
