The next candidate in the аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅϢ’s search for a new provost and executive vice president of academic affairs will visit all three аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢campuses next week.
The provost search committee selected Prasant Mohapatra, vice chancellor for research at the University of California, Davis and professor in the Department of Computer Science, to advance to the next stage in the process. Mohapatra will be the fifth candidate to participate in campus visits during the search. In October, the search committee brought forward four candidates for interviews and campus visits. Since that time, the committee has continued to search for additional candidates.
Mohapatra will visit аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢on Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 10 and 11, providing several opportunities to engage with the аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢community. The schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, Jan. 10
- St. Petersburg campus town hall – 11 a.m. in the USC Ballroom
- Sarasota-Manatee campus town hall – 3:30 p.m. in A320A
Wednesday, Jan. 11
- Tampa campus town hall – 10 a.m. at the Patel Center for Global Solutions, room 136
Each town hall will also be live streamed. Links to view the live streams will be available on the Provost Search website beginning Tuesday morning.
