Professor Vladimir Uversky inducted into 2024 class of AIMBE Fellows

From a record number of nominations nationwide this year, Dr. , Professor in the , was elected to the 2024 . AIMBE—the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering—annually presents this honor to the most accomplished medical and biological engineers in academia, industry, education, clinical practice, and government. Candidates for this honor are nominated, reviewed and elected by their peers and fellow college members.

Uversky was recognized for his multiple discoveries transforming understanding of the molecular mechanisms of protein folding, misfolding, and non-folding; especially as one of the first scientists who recognized the importance of intrinsically disordered proteins in biology. He also holds eight patents for his innovative bioengineering of related technologies and computational tools which are now standards in the field.

The 162 inductees were formally inducted during the AIMBE Annual Event at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel in Arlington, Va. on March 25, 2024.  AIMBE is a non-profit organization headquartered in Washington, D.C., representing the most accomplished individuals in the fields of medical and biological engineering. AIMBE Fellows represent the top 2% of medical and biological engineers.
