While shadowing physicians in primary and secondary care level facilities in the Dominican Republic, Kayla Li was exposed to the staggering effects of socioeconomic status and culture on global health. As a senior majoring in biomedical sciences and minoring in general public health, Kayla participated in a Community Health Service Trip during the winter of 2017. 鈥淢y study abroad experience has greatly contributed to my success鈥� the global perspective that I have gained will help me to understand my colleagues and patients better so that I can provide more personalized care.鈥�

Upon returning from the Dominican Republic, Kayla joined the as well as the Peace Corps Prep Program. But Kayla鈥檚 global impact does not end there.
