Application Procedure

ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS

  • Only 11th graders can apply & will attend full time while a senior in high school   
  • START APPLYING as early as SEPTEMBER of your high school junior year
  • This is NOT for college FRESHMAN

MUST READ

  • The Admission Office CANNOT help you with Early University Program questions.
  • Call or email dualenrollment@usf.edu for any Early Admission information.
  • The Early Admission process for students who are still in High School is different.  
  • DO NOT call or email the аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢admissions office.

Early Admission (EA) Enrollment Overview:
As full time аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢students, all Early Admission students will be supported by their high school counselor and have access to the learning resources available at USF.  They are university students and on their way to completing a degree as long as they stay in good standing.  аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢Academic Advisors will be assigned after they are admitted.

High School Counselors / Homeschool Administrators will guide Early Admission students to select courses that complete their high school graduation requirement as well as serve the course of study for their intended college major. Students take 4-5 courses per semester as full time students starting in the fall of their senior year (12-15 credits). 

What Students Applying to Early Admission (EA) Must Do:

GET STARTED EARLY

  • Apply as of September of your Junior year in high school to help meet deadlines.
  • SEND test scores/transcripts on or before the March 1st review of your student records, which will be done by аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢admissions.
  • Application due dates are subject to change based on аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢reaching maximum capacity. 

COMPLETE EARLY ADMISSION (EA) REQUIREMENTS

  • Articulation Agreement: School Districts, Charter Schools, Private Schools and Homeschooled Administrators (Guardian) must have an Articulation Agreement.
  • Apply while a junior in high school; attend full time your senior year of high school.
  • GPA 3.8: Unweighted
  • Foreing Language: 2 years / 2 HS credits
  • TEST SCORES - not restricted to аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢Testing Services:  
  • Send official test scores to аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢admissions.
  • Send official high school transcripts to аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢admission.
  • Send official college transcripts to аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢admissions.

APPLY

  • Apply: Deadline is March 1st. Submit your as a degree seeking student.
    • Tips: Don't pay application fee. 
    • Don't say "yes" to disciplinary issues, say "NO"
  • NET ID: Activate your , 3 days after applying (аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢email won't work till accepted).
  • EA Form 1: Submit the Early Admission Approval Form 1
  • SCORES & TRANSCRIPTS: Submit official high school transcripts & official test scores to аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢admissions.
    • Official tests scores must be sent to аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢from the testing company.  Request scores be sent to аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢using provided school codes:
      • 5828 as the school code for the SAT.
      • 0761 as the school code for the ACT.
      • Select Univ. of South Florida in drop down for CLT
      • It usually takes 3-5 weeks for test results to arrive.
    • If unofficial transcripts and test scores are emailed to dualenrollment@usf.edu while waiting for acceptance, these DO NOT replace required official transcripts & test scores needed by admissions.
  • EA Form 2: Submitted by a school counselor / Homeschool Parent Administrator after acceptance. Early Admission Approval Form 2
    • Confirms applicant's readiness, inlcudes needed courses for high school graduation.
    • Ensures аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢admission receives official high school transcripts (partial official).
  • аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢Academic Advisor: A аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢academic advisor will be assigned once accepted.
  • ORIENTATION: Students must sign up for ORIENTATION after being accepted so they can register. This is mandatory.  Select your home campus for orientation.
  • ONCE ACCEPTED: You must check your аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢email regularly, sign up for orientation, work with your assigned аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢academic advisor and your high school counselor.
  • Medical History Form and
  • Check Student Account: Complete PGAP (parent guardian approval) and SSAR (student self-reported academic record) if you see those on your student portal.  

 DEADLINES FOR EARLY ADMISSION (EA)

  • Student submits ALL requirements for Early Admissions to be received by March 1st.
  • All transcripts and admission documents must be received by March 1st.
  • Student can submits Judy Genshaft Honors College Application and online application by March 1st of their Junior Year. Follow the JGHC timeline (additional application process).
  • All аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢Partners request Articulation Agreements by May 15th to support upcoming Junior status students applying in the Fall for Early Admissions-Dual Enrollment during their Senior Year.
  • Only Homeschool Administrators / Parents must submit proof of homeschool registration in a school distrcit or PEP award to dualenrollment@usf.edu(Provide letter from the district, confirmation of registration or Award Letter)
  • Early Admissions students need to send all their Dual Enrollment transcripts to USF. This is a process, not a form called "Dual Enrollment Disclosure Form."
  • Students will order and pay for college transcripts to be sent to аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢from all institutions  that they attended. If the student only attends USF, this process can be skipped.  The cost is not included in dual enrollment funds, dual enrollment funds only cover only tuition and textbooks.
 

                     Avoid errors on the application!

  • Do not use your phone to apply! READ the directions to avoid errors. Use laptop/desktop google chrome. Do not use tablets or phones. Clear cookies/cache/history.
  • APPLY:  When completing this application they will select the Fall Semester of their high school senior year.   
  • When it asks, "Will you have graduated from high school prior to enrolling at USF?" say YES. 
  • DO NOT PAY the application fee and tuition/admissions deposit. Both will be waived.
  • Select a аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢Campus closest to you select degree seeking option and choose your college major.  NOTE:  The campus selected is where you as the student will attend orientation in person.
  • Degree seeking applicants must establish residency by the same process as all applicants, please work with your parents or guardians when filling out the application. All applicants must establish RESIDENCY. (COMMON MISTAKE regarding the Driver’s License – put the ISSUE date NOT the renewal date of the Driver’s License). 
  • Early Admissions students need to send all their Dual Enrollment transcripts to аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢ON TIME to arrive by March 1st.
    • Application process is not a form called "Dual Enrollment Disclosure." Students will order and pay for Dual Enrollment transcripts to be sent to аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢from all post-secodary institutions  that they attended for dual enrollment courses. If the student only attended USF, this process can be skipped.  The cost is not included in dual enrollment funds, dual enrollment funds only cover only tuition and textbooks.

LOOK UP COURSES

LOOK UP COURSES: Use found under at the top right of the аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢Homepage located under resources or . Students should record these desired courses using a course planning sheet and include the course prefix and course number; give to the high school counselor. This will help high school counselors/homeschool administrators submit the Early Admission Approval Form 2

WHAT SCHOOL COUNSELORS/ADMINISTRATORS MUST DO

  • EA FORM 2: The school Counselor/ Homeschool Parent Administrator submits the Early Admission Approval Form 2. Located on the forms page under EARLY ADMISSION-DEGREE SEEKING STUDENTS ONLY.  The Approval Form 2 is submitted for planning purposes for fall semester and spring semester
    • Submission is done after confirming  the U# is established, verifying that the student’s standardized test score and GPA meet the requirements for Early Admission, and asserting the student’s overall readiness for academic success in full-time college-level courses.
    • For semester course planning, the course selections are verified for availability by the student in Oasis or using the Staff Schedule Search.
  • Residency and Immunization will need to be confirmed as policy, counselors can assist students as needed. 

HOMESCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS ONLY

  • Fill out the transcript form. Click here for the form, and then submit the completed form via email to registration@usf.edu. Please include the student U# in the subject line of the email.
  •  Submit proof of homeschool registration in a school distrcit or provide a PEP award to dualenrollment@usf.edu. (Letter from the district, confirmation of registration or Award Letter)

ALL COUNSELORS

  • ALL COUNSELORSOFFICIAL HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE SENT to аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢Admissions from their school district, homeschool, charter school, or private school.  
  • ALL COUNSELORS: Students / testing center must send OFFICIAL TEST SCORES to аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢Admissions. 
  • Remind students to register for the campus orientation once they are accepted and to take the once they have access to the learning platform. This is found under MyаÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢on the homepage under learning.  Note: without campus orientation students will not be able to register.
  • Remind Students to the first day of the school week, AND the FIRST DAY OF CLASS to ensure the course is available in Canvas. They must post something on the discussion board such as Hello! to be counted for attendance. If not available, the student must be added to the course. After Drop/Add week, students cannot be added or dropped from registered courses without penalty and it is the student’s responsibility to check their courses.
  • Remind students that they can also log into Canvas one week prior to the course to ensure the course is available; this will not count toward attendance.

COURSE REGISTRATION BY STUDENTS

  • The student should check their My аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢Oasis, MyBullsPath, Canvas, to ensure everything is is completed to include the courses registered. Students should check their USF email regularly.
  • Students must log into Canvas the day of the first course meeting to ensure the course is available in Canvas and they are not dropped from the course.  If not available, the student must be added to the course.  After Drop/Add week, students cannot be added or dropped from registered courses without penalty and it is the student’s responsibility to check their courses.
  • Students must also check their schedules to ensure there are no classes that they do not want on their schedule.  Students should drop UNWANTED classes during drop/add week to avoid holds in billing. This applies to all students who have decided not to attend аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÄÚÄ»ÐÅÏ¢for that term as well
