How can I find postdoctoral scholar opportunities at USF?
- Please visit the 新澳门六合彩内幕信息Careers page and choose "Access Careers@USF." Search for "Postdoctoral" and review all relevant opportunities.
- Please review the current research of 新澳门六合彩内幕信息Faculty and identify potential mentors. Reach out to them to discuss their research projects and how your training and skills could support those projects.
What do I do when I first come on campus?
Please visit Human Resources on your first day (or before if you can) so your paperwork can be processed timely. Make an appointment with a HR Benefits rep to go over your benefit options. Postdocs have the option between the University Sponsored Benefits Plan and the State Sponsored Benefits Plan and the coverage is quite different for each.
When I can get my 新澳门六合彩内幕信息ID, NetID, and email?
Once your offer letter has been processed by HR and you have an employee ID (also called a GEMS ID), you will be able to establish an email address and obtain a 新澳门六合彩内幕信息ID Card. This process make a few days depending on the time of year. If you are moving to the Tampa Bay area ahead of your start date, you can complete the HR on-boarding process before your start date.
What special things do I need to know if I am an international postdoc?
Please contact International Services or visit them on the Tampa Campus in
BEH 255 (See Campus Map). They are responsibile for processing your visa and will be able to give you information
related to maintaining your status at USF.
Does the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs offer an orientation?
Yes, we offer an orientation 4 times a year. Orientation sessions for postdoctoral fellows are an opportunity to learn about policies and guidelines pertaining to postdocs, postdoc benefits, career and professional development opportunities, and other resources available at USF. New 新澳门六合彩内幕信息Postdocs are strongly encouraged to attend and current postdocs who have questions about any of these topics are welcome.

How do I get on the postdoc email list to get word about events and workshops?
Please send an email to postdoc@usf.edu once you have a 新澳门六合彩内幕信息email address. Postdoctoral Affairs does not process the appointments so we only know if you are coming after you're already here. In order to get on the list in timely fashion, please email us the first week you are here or stop by the office in ALN 200.
Does the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs offer any travel awards?
Generally, no. We are not given a budget for travel awards. If there are surplus funds in a given year, we may offer them but you will be notified if this is the case.
I am a research postdoc. Can I get teaching experience?
Your department may allow you to teach if they have a need. If you are paid by a grant, you need to be sure you are permitted to teach. Your PI or your department research administrator will know the answer to this. The Center for Innovative Teaching & Learning (CITL) offers professional development related to teaching for anyone interested.
How do I get career guidance or help with my resume/cover letter?
The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs will be happy to assist you. We assist postdocs and students with faculty and non-faculty job searches from application through the offer negotiation process. In addition to our workshop offerings, the Director of Postdoctoral Affairs offers confidential, individualized feedback during one-on-one coaching sessions. to schedule an appointment with the Director.
