Biographical Sketch
- : Details and what must be included for senior personnel
- NSF requires a biographical sketch for each individual identified as senior personnel.
- 3-page document including the certification language (included on the SciENcv template).
- Must use SciENcv, as of October 23, 2023

If your senior/key personnel are using the fillable format for biographical sketch, NSF now requires the listing of Professional Preparation in reverse chronological order (most recent position first, with undergrad last in the list). Please see the most recent PAPPG for information.
Current & Pending (Other Support) Documents

- Must disclose all current project support from whatever source (includes internal support)
- Now includes certification language where the typed signature must be included (no adding electronic signatures).

Disclosures Relating to Biographical Sketch and Current & Pending (Other) Support
No-Cost Extension Requests
No-cost extension requests are routed via Research.gov under Awards & Reporting - Notifications & Requests.
- The justification for the extension must be clearly outlined.
- requests must be submitted at least 10 days prior to award expiration.
- NSF-approved extension requests must be submitted at least 45 days priors to award expiration.
- Keep in mind you cannot request an extension if there is a $0 or negative balance.
- 2nd NCEs must also be submitted prior to the end of the period of performance (at least 45 days) and will always require NSF approval.
- Third NCEs are unusual, but not un-allowed. In certain circumstances, an extension beyond a 1st and 2nd is necessary and discussions would have occurred between your PI and the Program Officer prior to submitting this type of request.

Understand federal funding agency disclosure requirement, including types of information that must be disclosed, how that information is used and why such disclosures are fundamental to safeguarding U.S. research from foreign government interference and exploitation. - Module 3: Manage and Mitigate Risk
Identify types of international collaborative research and professional activities, associated potential risks, and strategies and best practices for managing and mitigating such risk.
- Module 4: The Importance of International Collaboration
Learn strategies on how to balance principled international collaboration with research security concerns, as well as how to foster an open, welcoming research environment that fulfills research security needs.
