Research Centers
The College of Engineering is home to 11 major research centers and institutes as well as relationships with other USF interdisciplinary research centers. In addition, there are hundreds of faculty research labs that can be found within the seven engineering faculty departments.

CARRT works to improve the quality of life, and increase independence and community reintegration of individuals with reduced functional capabilities due to aging, disability or traumatic injury, through integrated research, education and service in assistive and rehabilitation, and robotics technologies in collaboration with consumers, clinicians, government and industry partners.
Established in 1988, CUTR is an internationally-recognized resource for transportation research, education and technology transfer/training/outreach. CUTR provides high quality, objective expertise in the form of insightful research, comprehensive training and education, effective technical assistance and in-depth policy analysis that assists and supports transportation agencies, communities, policymakers, and the public. CUTR is also the home to the
CERC pursues research and development of environmentally clean energy systems, such as photovoltaics (PV), concentrating solar power (CSP), energy storage (thermal storage, batteries, supercapacitors), photocatalytic detoxification/disinfection technologies, hydrogen production and solid state storage, new efficient thermodynamic cycles, solar energy conversion/rectifying antenna (rectenna), and biomass conversion/biofuels.
The GCHSR is an interdisciplinary, multi-college and inter-institutional collaborative center, which through its core disciplines of communication sciences and disorders, audiology, and speech sciences, biomedical engineering, and acoustics enhances the USF's strategic initiatives in basic and clinical research, teaching/learning, scientific discovery, entrepreneurship and innovation, student success, mentoring at all levels, and state and local community service.
Formed in 1996, the WAMI Center provides RF and microwave education and research, and offering of undergraduate and graduate courses. Its faculty are pursuing research in areas of national and global significance. The center places a strong emphasis on its partnerships and support from the local and national industry, and together with its graduate student researchers pursues its mission to advance the state of knowledge in the wireless and microwave field.
The NREC is a university-wide user fabrication and metrology center providing state-of-the-art equipment, professional support personnel and infrastructure to enable multidisciplinary research in nanomaterials and nanomanufacturing methods related to fundamental materials science, sensors, actuators, electronics, bio-systems, medical products, optics and integrated nanoscale systems. It supports research projects of faculty, students, and industrial researchers.
The Institute of Applied Engineering is a world class research and education center dedicated to seeking solutions to the security and economic challenges facing the nation. The IAE works with the DoD in utilizing USF's core competencies - autonomous systems; cyber security; human performance enhancement technologies; energy and transportation infrastructure systems; and supporting capabilities including data analytics and advanced manufacturing.
AI + X is a university-wide research, education center for Artificial Intelligence,
and world-class academic R&D center conducting externally-funded research in Artificial
Intelligence (AI) and associated areas (X = Healthcare, Medicine, Cybersecurity, Finance,
Business, Manufacturing, Transportation), using a transdisciplinary approach across
Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, and Computer Science, and work with industry to transition
them into products that benefit humanity in an ethical and responsible manner.
The Mini Circuits Design for X Laboratory is a collaborative, innovative environment for undergraduate students at the 新澳门六合彩内幕信息 to safely pursue meaningful multidisciplinary engineering projects that expand their creative design and project management skills

The Florida Center for Cybersecurity, aka Cyber Florida, is hosted at the University of South Florida and works with private industry; academic institutions; local, state and federal government; and the military to build Florida鈥檚 cybersecurity industry and related workforce through education, research, and outreach.
